 LATEST NEWS

Pete was recently interviewed on BBC Radio 4's Soul Music, along with other guests, talking about the background, development and emotional impact of the old Shaker hymn 'Simple Gifts'. The hymn has found musical reincarnation in Sydney Carter's 'Lord Of The Dance' & Aaron Copland's 'Appalachian Spring'. Pete Lashley is a full-time singer/songwriter/guitarist who has, over the last 6 years, released 6 albums and performed well over 700 gigs. Welsh born and now living in Cumbria, Pete's music has a timeless quality which reflects the northern county's jagged peaks and lakes. It's perhaps no surprise then that you will find Pete performing in The Lake District at spectacular locations such as The Sticklebarn, Langdale, playing to outdoor types from all over the world. He also plays at venues further afield such as The Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff, Durham's Gala Theatre, Liverpool's Cavern Club.  Indeed Pete's music has enabled him to travel all over the world. In 2007 he toured Australia and New Zealand calling in to play at Sydney, Auckland, Wellington, Melbourne, Adelaide, and San Francisco on his way home. This journey was the inspiration for his 2008 release 'Voices From The Ocean Road'.

Pete writes/records and does many gigs as a solo performer. He has also been lucky enough to have written/recorded/performed with some great musicians over the years such as; Mike Tripp (The Rinky Dinks), Martin and Ruth Nuttall (Little Giants), Sean Mellor, Carl Iredale, Andy Smith (Blue Juice), Paul Guppy (The Gladly Solemn Sound).

In the last eight years the following Pete Lashley albums have been released.

Southern Upland (2002),

Gravel (2003),

Slate (2004),

Air Of The Gods (2005),

Cutting Out The Middleman (2006)
