A Most Unusual Gig

POSTED: 16 July 2006

Today is July 17th, 2006 and it's very hot. This morning i played possibly the most unusual gig thus far in my career as a musician. A thoroughly decent chap called Dave, manager of Brooklands, recently relocated his car business to a huge hangar just outside Blackpool Airport. When it was built during the War it was the biggest single roof span hangar in the country!! Dave wanted some entertainment for his staff which i thought was a cracking idea. I obliged by playing songs such as 'Sunny Afternoon', 'Hey Jude', 'Wish You Were Here', as well as a few of my own instrumentals, such as the Spanish style 'Matador'. The sound was colossal! If you can imagine the echo of about 15 Albert Halls, that was somewhere near the effect. Great fun. I think everyone enjoyed it which is what it's all about.

Just to say also that you can now view future blogs on www.myspace.com/petelashleymusic
I'm hoping to put a video up soon on www.petelashley.com and on www.myspace.com/petelashleymusic from a song featured on the new album. The new album by the way is getting close to completion. 9 songs down and 3 to go.

Toodlepip for now
Pete
